Can't hear anything from my headphones after installing Windows 7

I've just installed Windows 7, but cannot hear anything from my earphones. They are connected to a subwoofer which is connected to the computer. Right now I cannot hear anything - not music, not movies, not sounds or videos on the web, nothing. Maybe it's something with the on-board sound card mixer...

How can I fix this?

TIA

Have you install the drivers for the Sound card?

Where on my PC can I find if I installed them or not? I thought that Windows 7 does this automatically.

It won't do any good as my Windows 7 language is Hebrew.

Just a general question - Is there a central place in this new OS where you can check for all your installed hardware for drivers current state?

Yes, Device Manager.

I think you can just type "Device Manager" into the SearchBar in Start Menu

Another thing is, I don't have a CD with my motherboard. I think it's just comes pre-installed with drivers, so I guess it's just to look online, but when I've tried the "check online for drivers option" it says that my drivers are updated.

Is there is some main sound control panel in Windows 7? Also, in all the sound cards that I had, the main function of their mixer was to set the number of speakers: 2 (for headphones), 4 5 and 7. I don't any such option in my on-board sound card mixer...
