Front Left Speaker problem

I have a Speedlink Medusa 5.1 Pro Gamer Headset (no USB just jack cable) i have and X-Fi XtremeGamer Fatal1ty Pro Series soundcard. Yesterday i was listening to some music not doing anything at all and suddenly my front left speaker sound was dropping like every few seconds it was like turning off the sound from the speakers real quick and now the front left speaker is not working anymore if i go to the sound setup all the sound levels of all the speakers are all the way up and if i go to the speaker setup and test my speakers (5.1) the sound from the front left speaker is really really really low you can just barely hear it. i'm really confused here because i was not doing anything besides listening to music and surfing the web and also i tried to reinstall the drivers but that din't work also is it maybe that my speakers are broken or my soundcard is messed up or is it maybe software related?

Hi niBBit,

Try swapping your front and rear speakers over (swap the plugs) so that your LF is now your LR and RF your RR. Test your speakers again. Are you now getting sound out of your LF with little to none out of your LR? If Yes then it could be your speaker (possibly a flakey connection in the plug), but if No(and your LF output, which is now connected to your LR speaker) is still low then it could be a soundcard and/or driver problem.

OK. Disconnect all your speakers and just reconnect the rear ones to the front sockets. Set your card to Stereo mode and try again.
