    Auzen X-fi Prelude not detected

    Hello,

    I've recently upgraded from Vista to win 7 rc1 and there were no problems with my sound. however i decided to update my sound card drivers and after doing so, windows will not recognise the sound card before or after the drivers are installed. i've tried the auzen drivers in vista compatibility mode, daniel's 1.1 drivers and still the sound card isn't detected. going into device manager shows a yellow triangle for the card, right clicking on this and using the update driver link won't work either, i've pointed it to the exact folder for both sets of drivers i mentioned above and it comes back with this;

    any ideas?

    thanks for any help you can provide, the only other solution i can think of is to format and install w7 again

    Did you uninstall the drivers and Alchemy as per the instructions on Auzen's site. Running the latest drivers with the Prelude here sweet as.

    Oooh, are those cards as nice as they say they are? Sorry I can't help with the driver but there's plenty here who can.

    They are most definitely what they say they are, if not better. They outclass the Creative cards completely IMHO (I did have a fatality X-fi).

    Now I have a Texas Intruments 627SM opamp installed on the card and Ozone as my DSP plugin for Mediamonky and using the Asio driver. With all of that the warmth of the music is comparable to a good quality valve amp. Just superb.

    ^^ No kidding. Spoken like a true audiophile, I dig it.

    I've used Ozone for years, it's absolutely beautiful. Not sure what Asio is but I'll be sure to look into it, I'll have to order one of those cards asap.

    Curious to know what speakers you use...

    Speakers for the rig are Logitech Z-5500's running on the analog ports, They do have onboard digital decoding but the way I like my music is through analog. (Listening to Tom Petty's Full Moon Fever album atm. soooo smooth)
    If I am not in my little room listening to music and tapping the key board it is diverted to the rack in the lounge.

    the only help I can provide is that I have an XFi XtremeMusic and had to use the Creative drivers to install via Vista Compatibility mode to get mine to work. this was in the W7 beta.

    In W7 RC 7100, no problems at all, it recognized the card and installed its own drivers so I never messed with it after that. Maybe once Creative releases official W7 drivers, I will try them out.

    Are the latest drivers on Auzentech's site for the prelude Windows 7 compatible?
    I noticed there are no more links for daniel K's drivers.
