Access Rights

I didn't know whether to post this under general or Security, I guess it is more of a security Issue.

Ok, So over a week of using windows 7 i have noticed alot of programs etc ask for access right etc in order to carry out commands, I know of a solution to each program just by right clicking and opening it as an administrator, but, I am the only user set up and i should already be an admin i would of thought, How can i go about this to making everything i run, run with admin rights or full access rights.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks alot for that!, Is good, but may i ask, How do i transfer my profile over to the admin user? and will it be called administrator? I was hoping to just be able to change the account i have if that was possible, not add another user... Heh

If anyone could advise me on this it would be cool!

(edit - Just to reassure, i have checked my own user account and it is set up as an admin account, so i dunno if there is any difference to the admin account and mine....)

Thanks

Did you follow through? Built-in Administrator Account - Change Name

I don't use the "hidden built-in Administrator account" and I have UAC turned on for my 'specific admin' account.

Well, Kinda, I was having problems with folder/file access rights in applications more than anything, For instance, i was getting an error from Itunes saying,

“The iTunes Library file cannot be saved. You do not have the access privileges for this operation.”

But, i think i managed to fix this by changing my access rights under my username to "full access" to The whole drive that contains my music and itunes files.
I wonder if i will have to do this to my C drive too?

You can give yourself "privileges" with all access rights

Sorry, I do not understand.
What i did was right click my M drive, select properties and click the securities tab, from there i clicked "edit" for where the edit permissions are and selected full control as allow.

Is that what you were meaning?

A basic question about access rights
After several months of Windows 7's working pretty well on my new computer, I now am getting a raft of "access denied" notices. Since I'm the owner of the computer and the only one who uses it, and the one who sent money to Redmond for the OS, this sort of ruffles my feathers. Somehow I have...
