Advice
I recently heard about the Trend Micro Internet Security Pro 2010. Does anyone know if it is any good or not?
I've heard different things about it and was curious.

well.......there are better alternatives available
I also agree with thathagat. there are better alternative available. but i always believe to try any new thing before making my mind because the product doesnot suite me seems to suite other. so u can give it a try and download the trial version to see how it goes........... Always remember to uninstall any AV with the Unisntaller the vendor provides. Here is the AV compatatives result. http://www.av-comparatives.org/image...c_report26.pdf
MSE, also released as Beta
Malawarebytes excellent trojan-malware
Both are FREE!!!
My suggestion is totally my own opinion.
Reagardless what AV or AV suite you choose, the free version of
Malwarebytes is an excellent companion. Highly recommended!
I tried trend a while back and didnt like it.
My recomendations would be:
->For free: MSE
->For paid: NIS 2010.
As always with these types of questions, its really personal preference. Find one that suites you.
If you're looking to buy one, they all have a free trial to check them out before you buy.
The best security is the user themselves.
Are you looking to replace Norton?
This test and AV-Comparatives May 2010 and February 2010 tests are interesting regarding Trend Micro.
Im actually pretty happy with it.
Can't even tell its running (resource wise) and since I started using it in Oct last year..
Not 1 problem so far with Viruses or Malware. I run Malwarebytes weekly but it never finds anything (still good to have though)
So far, NIS has caught absolutely everything, so I honestly couldn't ask for more.
Also love the fact it goes into silent mode when it detect a FS game, so it isnt scanning or interfering with the game.
Of course everyone has and are entitled to thier own opinion.
This is just mine.
I should have mentioned that I was addressing codyw.
When I had Norton 2009/2010/2011 installed, my experience was the same as yours, Wishmaster, minus NIS catching everything (there was nothing to catch).
