Can't change my UAC levels? My problem is that windows does nothing when I press the button to change the UAC levels. I click on UAC settings, and nothing happens. What is wrong here? Everything I tried to click on other control panel stuff works.
I can't even see the slider from UAC.

Welcome to Seven Forums siruncealot. I don't usually go stratight to the System File Checker. But in your case, I think it may be the place to start. SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker
See if that fixes it, if not let us know. Thank You! I really don't know how that scan fixed but it did I was going to ask for this other problem about Control Panel not responding but it stopped.
Thanks, it sucks that I had to go through like 3 different sites to ask this question and nobody got the answer for me . Some even thought I was trolling | My System Specs | | |

I tried to do the sfc scan and it said that it had found some corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.
The biggest issue im having is trying to install Firefox 4 beta, and it is saying that i dont have the necessary requirements, and i need to log in as admin. Some other websites said i needed to change the UAC levels however when i click the link to change it, a blank window pops up for a sec and then it goes away nothing really happening. Any suggestions? | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 |

I have this same problem. Many links on my computer have the UAC shield beside them, and if I click on any of those links, nothing happens. I can't add a user, change my UAC controls. I can't even do a factory reset. I have done the sfc/ scannow command several times, and there are still several errors on my computer.
I have done a couple of System Restores to previous dates, but they haven't helped.
Is there anything I can do to fix this? | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP Pavilion Slimline OS Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit |

I can't do a repair install. My computer came with Windows 7 already installed, so it didn't come with the disc. Is there any other way to do a repair install? | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP Pavilion Slimline OS Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit |

Not unless you can borrow someone else's discs. If you can get a DVD from someone else, we can work with it, even if it's not the same edition (Home Premium, Ultimate, etc). The only thing that matters is whether it is 64-bir or 32-bit. Make sure it's the same bit version as you have. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom OS Windows 7 Professional x64 CPU Intel i7 2600K OC'd @ 4620 MHz Motherboard Asus P8Z68-V Pro Memory 16GB GSkill Sniper 2133 Mhz (4x4GB) Graphics Card EVGA GeForce GTX 480 SuperClocked+ Sound Card Realtek High Definition Audio Monitor(s) Displays 2x Acer S273HLbmii 27" Screen Resolution 2 x 1920x1080 Keyboard Logitech MK320 (wireless) Mouse Logitech MK320 (wireless) PSU Corsair HW Series 750w (modular) Case Cooler Master HAF 932 Advanced Blue Edition Cooling CM Hyper 212+ CPU cooler, 3x 230mm + 1x 140mm case fans Hard Drives 64GB Crucial M4 SSD
