    MS Forefront Endpoint Protection 2010

So I installed this security software and I see that its similar to MSE beta in all aspects. Does anyone know what's the real difference between the two?

What is the difference between Forefront Endpoint Protection and Microsoft Security Essentials?

    A. Microsoft Security Essentials is a free consumer antimalware product for single client computers. Forefront Endpoint Protection 2010 provides endpoint protection for business environments, including antimalware and additional protections like behavior monitoring and firewall management. Forefront Endpoint Protection 2010 also includes central deployment, configuration, and reporting features needed for ensuring protection is maintained across the enterprise.

i know 1 BIG difference: fx. Forefront Security for SharePoint can use Multiple Antivirus Scan Engines...

Forefront Protection 2010 for SharePoint: Home Page

    Microsoft Forefront Security for SharePoint

Chapter 2: Selecting and Configuring Antivirus Scan Engines
almost at the bottom of the page, nice picture...

if i remember correctly, there is also a thread about it on sevenforums, most probably under "Security"...

Forefront is the enterprise version. However, as far as I know, it uses the same definitions as MSE.

I tried it on my PC. I think Forefront integrates itself somehow with your system firewall, unlike Norton and some of those other companies where when you install a security product like this, it takes over your system firewall and uses the security product's firewall to report behavior to the company as needed.

When I install either MSE or Forefront Client protection 2010, my internet stops working. When I remove them, it starts working. This is really PITA. Anyone knows a fix?

Are you installing the beta versions or the regular (existing) versions?
The betas still might have some small bugs that need worked out of them. When I tried both of them, I didn't have a problem.

    Dinesh: i´m running MSE v2-beta on W7.
last night after having read your post, i installed Forefront Endpoint Security-beta on my W7-testsystem (my second system) which i use for testing programs.

    both systems work, NO internetproblem.

Forefront Endpoint Security-beta looks (almost) the same as MSE v2-beta.
