Back in the early days of PC's Norton was synonomous with quality and innovation -- I'm sure some old hacks here can remember the old Norton Utilities that were released originally around Windows 3.1 and Windows 95.

Once Symantec got involved the whole product line has being going down hill ever since.

Anybody remember also the old Partition Magic and Drive Image from PowerQuest -- both excellent products until Symantec again took them over. The old Drive Image was a precursor to todays imaging software such as Acronis and I used it very successfully back in those days when Backup was hardly ever heard of.

Symantec also screwed up GHOST another OK imaging product.

No as far as I am concerned it's about time for Norton to join that great Corporation in the Sky -- move on to better products guys.

Have you actually tried either Norton Antivirus or Norton Internet Security 2009, 2010 or the new 2011? These are vastly improved over previous versions and your information, which appears to be based on older products, is simply inaccurate.

Yes, i used to use Norton Utilities, norton speed disk and norton commander almost religiously. I haven't touched a norton product in quite a long time.

I am of the same opinion as Jimbo45. I remember the Dos apps and early Win apps and I have seen nothing to compare to the quality of those from Symantec. They are still trying to cash in on the Norton Branding.
