I am a great supporter of MSE. If you read WindowsSecrets, then one of the writers there reported on this past 2-3 months of using MSE and also checking results with other av software. His report is a glowing recommendation for MSE.

I've used the OneCare safety scanner on and off for my XP machine and just a couple of times with my 7. Seems to work as advertised but it doesn't really offer anything special other than it does include Microsoft's version of a registry cleaner. That was the only reason I tried it ... to compare that registry cleaner with CCleaner. IMO they were comparable. I have full confidence in MSE and running an occasional scan with Malwarebytes so I don't think I'll have a need for OneCare.

I've used the Registry Cleaner on both XP and Win 7. The Reg Cleaner is alot more thorough than CrapCleaner. On XP it was a welcome due to years of useless reg entries by left behind by Microsoft. On Win 7 it was too thorough. I had to roll my system back due to losing some custom settings.
