Redirect virus?

Hello
A while ago I got a "antimalwaredoctor" virus, and I got Malwarebytes, and it fixed it. But now often times when I click on links it redirects me to different pages. Like fake search engines and things like that. It mostly happens in google, but it happens on other links too. Malwarebytes doesn't find anything.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

And I'm not really good with computers, so if something has the potential to mess up my computer, I probably should do it haha

I hope someone can help
Thank you!

Do you have an up to date anti-virus installed?? If so, run a full scan...

Hi xSunshine,

Welcome to SevenForums!

Besides Malwarebytes, could you do full scans using other on-demand scanners like SUPERAntiSpyware, Spyware Blaster or Hitman Pro? Do a full scan using Microsoft Security Essentials. Be sure to update it before doing the scan.

Google redirect virus? You can follow some simple steps, apart from doing a full scan of course. This page explains it beautifully.

Here's a quick way to flush your DNS cache and restore MS's Hosts file.

Copy and paste these lines in Note pad.

@Echo on
pushd\windows\system32\drivers\etc
attrib -h -s -r hosts
echo 127.0.0.1 localhost>HOSTS
attrib +r +h +s hosts
popd
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
ipconfig /flushdns
netsh winsock reset all
netsh int ip reset all
shutdown -r -t 1
del %0

Save as flush.bat to your desktop. Right click to run as Administrator. Your computer will reboot itself.

Now, rescan with Malwarebytes, Make sure everything is checked and click "remove selected".

Another thing you can check is Proxy Settings here:

Control Panel/Internet Options/Connections/Lan Settings/Proxy Server

If the "use proxy server for your LAN" box is checked (and if it's not intentional) this is left over from the virus. Uncheck the box and see if the redirecting stops. Also, if you run Hitman Pro it will see the proxy settings as a malware trace and remove them.

The hosts file is different in Win 7. Run the below .bat to restore to original.

@Echo on
pushd\windows\system32\drivers\etc
attrib -h -s -r hosts
echo # localhost name resolution is handle within DNS itself.>HOSTS
echo # 127.0.0.1 localhost>>HOSTS
echo # ::1 localhost>>HOSTS
attrib +r +h +s hosts

If still no joy then maybe post a Hijackthis log?
