To remove a second admin account – impossible?

I have accidentally created a second admin account on RC 7100 machine. How/ why that happened – another story. However, now I cannot seem to delete it at all. Even when logged in under the account I always use (also admin), go to the User Accounts control panel, and only have options to rename/ change picture of the second admin account. How the heck do I get rid of it?

Command Line: Run an elevated cmd prompt
    type: net user USERACCOUNTNAME /delete
and replace useraccountname with the account you want to delete.

Thank you for a quick response! I ran the command, got the following error message:

    C:\Windows\system32>net user Administrator /delete
    System error 1371 has occurred.

Cannot perform this operation on built-in accounts.

I am logged in under an admin account as well, but apparently Windows deems "Administrator" to be a built-in type. I find this odd since I have two other computers running W7, and none of them have an account named "Administrator". It cannot be built-in then I guess...

No worries, found a tutorial on how to allow an automatic log-in for an account, will make sure I do not even see "Administrators" when waking up or booting up.

Still odd how it does not show on two other computers....

Sounds like u are trying to delete the built in admin account, u cant cause windows needs it.
U can disable it by opening cmd window as admin and typing:

    net user administrator /active:no

YES! net user administrator /active:no worked like a charm. Mystery solved -- the account is also present on the two other computers, it is merely disabled...

Thank you all for quick and helpful responses. Now I learned something new, and it is good.

Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 require an account to have adminstrative privellages and be named "Administrator".

Without it, some services and applications will fail to run.

Please do not remove it. If you only want the singular account with administrative privellages present, you can logon to the administrator account by pressing control + alt + delete twice and logging in through the console.

From there obviously you can delete your other accounts.
