Far as I'm concerned, people who abuse torrents by using them to download hacked software deserve whatever happens to their computer.
Yes my post might be a little hard to understand. Many things downloaded from these kinds of sites due damage and the owner of the computer don't even know it.( Botnet). This might help.

Well, most of it is also the fact that people are cheap and uneducated with regards to how others target people.
The Microsoft Internet Explorer 8 commercial made an interesting point on how people were giving away information for a fake bank, because people aren't educated enough to understand that some of these things are literal scams.
People want the free stuff, not realizing that free always comes with a hitch. Free iPod, free iPad, free iPhone, free X-box... All of them are baits for the people who don't stop for a moment and think about it. The problem is, as we get to newer generations, the 'smarter' people are replaced by the 'mindless' hordes following them.
A colleague of mine stated, in 20 years, he fears what IT will become, because more and more people are 'users' than they are techs. Where they don't bother learning about the stuff, they only care about using it. And the computer is going that way because of the simple fact, it is less about caring how it works, only that it works.
Being a CS or EE major doesn't necessarily make you a good IT person.
Common sense and a talent for diagnosis will always make for a better IT person than any degree alone.. in fact the degree itself means almost nothing except for proof of a good memory, math skills, & the ability to follow instructions.
I have actually seen a City College hire a person with a Masters degree to teach a course in Assembly, who literally failed in being capable of doing that, while a man who is hired as a tutor, with no degree, was able to explain things a hell of a lot better than the person they hired.
Course, the person who had the masters degree got let go, and a mad scramble to grab the previous teacher to handle the class for that one semester happened...
