    Username and password input


    sorry if it is the wrong place

    when i turn my laptop on and it gets to the login screen i want it so you have to type a user name and password not just click and type password for better security etc...
    like back in windows XP cos i bring it with me with sensitive docs and want it 2 b harder 4 people 2 get into

    Run gpedit.msc and set the always use classic logon to enabled

    Computer configuration
    administrative templates
    System
    login

    see if that helps :)

    if you look on the net you will see there are linux live disks specifically setup to reset the password. you need to accept that unless you encrypt the hard drive all your data is available to anyone.

    That and:
    Computer Configuration > Windows Settings > Security Settings > Local Policies > Security Options > Interactive Login: Do not display last username: enabled

    this will prompt you for a username everytime.

    Hi, paul3200.

    As I posted at another site today, if there isn't a tutorial at SevenForums for what you want to customize in Windows 7, it probably isn't possible to be done. :)
