[SOLVED] Comodo error?
I wanted to try out the Comodo firewall, but I get this error after setting the install language as English.

That happens when you get the 32 bit installer. Did you confirm you got the 64 bit installer?
Free Download - The Best Firewall Protection and Anti-Virus Scan Software from Comodo
You also apparently need javascript enabled or you will get the 32bit installer. It should be cfw_installer_x64.exe

A Guy- Its sound advise like this that debunks the myth that most people can't run HIPS and makes it possible for them to benefit from a very high level of protection on the desktop even if the first line of Antivirus defense is somehow breached.
Although my preference is to leave the Firewall in Custom Policy Mode so that I can see which programs are calling up to the internet and decide on a case by case basis which ones I want to allow internet access to.

What happens if malware is inadvertently downloaded and ran within those few days or when new files are purposefully or inadvertently introduced to the system later on?
I generally run it on training mode when 1st installed, then launch my commonly used programs, do the usual program updates, etc. then set it back to a protection level. I don't surf or download anything new while it is learning. But many people just try it, get a bunch of alerts, and give up. Or worse, just accept everything because they don't know what to do. I think this is why the windows firewall is a good idea for many, as is UAC and automatic updates. They might not have the best protection, but some would otherwise have none.
There are those who would rather be oblivious to what is calling out, or incoming. I prefer as much control as possible. Perhaps my suggestion of a few days to a week, was too much...I'm just used to people giving up when they start getting alerts, and would rather do without, then be bothered. I just assume they make themselves more a target, and make those of us well protected too much trouble to target

Comodo is dedicated to a genuine multi-layer defense and in this case Comodo's Automatic Sandboxing would virtualize and neutralize any unrecognized software trying to run during the very short period of time that it takes to train Comodo HIPS.
As an example it generally takes me about 90 seconds to run all of my programs under Defense+ HIPS Training Mode while the computer is off-line. This makes HIPS very easy for anyone to run even a novice user so that they can benefit from Comodo's top testing advanced level of computer security.
