    Comodo Firewall help

I decided to install Comodo and become familiar with it. After installing (5.0.163652.1142) and using a couple guides to get setup, I seem to keep failing a particular test with their CLT tool.

    Impersonation: ExplorerAsParent Vulnerable

Anyone have any tips on how I can correct that?

    EDIT:
having found a brief sentence about it online, disabling the Sandbox part of Comodo gives me 340/340 now. Not sure why disabling that would bring "more" benefit according to the test.

Hello Ageeb, i do not know if this is the same source of what you found on line? just in case it is of help i will post it.

Sandbox = disabled [CLT was not designed to be used in a sandbox. If CLT is sandboxed, it will generate erroneous results!]

Maybe someone could help me understand a little better. Here's my scenario's...

    1) Leave most options as default install with some various tweaks from here. Sandboxie enabled.
Scores 330/340 (fails Impersonation: ExplorerAsParent Vulnerable)

    2) Add CLT to trusted files and run again. Sandboxie Enabled.
    Scores 190/340 (fails alot)

    3) Disable Sandboxie module altogether and remove CLT from trusted.
    Scores 340/340

I just thought there might be some setting i'm overlooking that i'm only failing 1 test even though sandboxie is enabled in the first scenario.

Did you have a look at the link i provided, i was getting varied results due to the fact that i was not clearing my browser cache & re booting between test.

It explains why this is in the guide i posted the link to

yea, i did read it infact. some more background info, clean install of win7 ultimate (just a few hours ago), full updates, IE set to clear history on exit, ccleaner set to run at each startup.

    definitely not from something lingering.

But wouldn't putting a file in the trusted list not run it sanboxed?
and if so, why would it fail the hardest in that scenario?

I just thought it was odd that i'm only failing 1 test with sandboxie enabled is all... nothing earth shattering here, just curious

I would have thought so, i really cant be of any more help as i only had the problem i stated that gave me erratic results.

I have been using ZoneAlarm Pro but switched to Comodo Pro recently, which is totally FREE. Comodo Pro is as good as ZoneAlarm. I personally like the Comodo interface better than ZoneAlarm Pro.

I have noticed that Comodo putting some programs in Sandbox, in this case, for ESME's Ping Monitor program, seems to be artificially inflating the ping monitor's delay over time. It went from pinging the router within 0 to 12ms to 100s of ms. Short of restarting the program, I noticed that the delay is still there.
