It's about time too, I've been paying AU$100 per year for their "Live" protection. It's fine for XP, but doesn't work on 7. In the meantime try Kapersky Anti-Virus 2009 Beta, free and extremely good!

Awesome. I haven't used anti-virus software since 2002 or so, but I might try it out just for fun. I just don't ever get them.

By Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2009 beta, do you mean version 9.0.0.459 (2010)?

See this post:

Agree, it is about time for ms to provide free protection for there own OS's. It will most likely be very basic, so advanced users will look elsewere, but for most sure it will be just fine.

Well! I am now officially bamboozled! No anti-virus? You either have incredible luck or you re-format your drive every month!

heh, I have supernatural powers.

Seriously though, does your anti virus really catch something at least once a month that would have infected your computer? If so, what are you doing to cause it? I'm always curious as to how people get malware on their computers.
