There are times where having access to these offline definitions are useful. I had a problem once when i changed my ISP & for some reason i could not establish a stable connection with Malwarebytes update server for two weeks, fortunately i was able to download the definitions and manually apply them while i got this sorted.

It is also useful if say a friend was on dial up & asked me to install MSE for them, the last i looked the definitions for MSE is around 50mb and MSE resident protection is not active until you do the initial definitions update. Now on dial up that is around 2-3 hours MSE is not protecting you while downloading & installing the updates.
So if i download definitions prior to the install of MSE i can have MSE up & running as well as actively protecting my friends computer in a matter of minutes :)

I think you should include AVG. They are also major antivirus company.

For paid version: AVG - Download AVG Software Updates for Antivirus and Internet Security

For free version: AVG Free - Update AVG Antivirus | Internet Security | LinkScanner

It is for cases where you have internet access elsewhere but not on the computer that needs the updates
So you take your trusty USB stick and off you go
