Windows Security Center - error 1079

    Windows Security Center - error 1079


    My Windows Security Center wouldnt start so i tried -

    Start->Run,then type Services.msc and enter.Find the Security Center service right-click it,select Automatic and select Start.

    but after selecting start i get Error:1079 message.

    can anyone help on this?

    Set to Auto as you did then Click Restart where I have circled in yellow in the picture.

    I tried this and am still getting the error 1079 message

    I get the attached screen when launching services

    What Anti-virus and Firewall programs are you using?

    Please tell us a bit more about your system operating specs.

    i havent got any anti virus software running at the moment. im running windows 7 and windows firewall.

    Download MSE and install. This is an AV.
    Big blue button in the middle "Download". http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/
    Update and run a "Full" scan.
    If it finds something click "Fix" or "Remove".

    When that is done go download Malwarebytes. Malwarebytes
    Free version blue button top left of page.
    Install, open it then click the Update tab, then update.
    Click Scanner tab, then select "Perform full scan". Click Scan.
    Remove delete anything it finds.

    I ran a Malwarebytes yesterday and cleared all infected files. I will run the microsoft security essentials and post the results

    I have ran microsoft security essentials and restarted, still cant turn on windows security.
