After setting up my user profile and being confronted with permission and ownership problem I found out how to ENABLE the admin account. It looks like those problems went away. However, all of the desktop icons have disappeared, the Start menu is not the same, etc.
Question:
Is there away to transfer or, preferably, copy the regular user settings (profile?) to this admin account?

I am using the W7 schedular to accomplish an Acronis backup. It fails to run, getting a permission error. When I invoke the admin mode is enabled no error. So ownership is not the problem, permission is. Thats why I would like to stay in admin user and copy all etc. to the admin profile.

Once in the built in admin account I was able to run the batch file.
Again I ask, Is there a simple way to merge or copy my regular user account profile to this built in admin account so I can always use it?
Blockie, It's complex and doesn't always give you the results you desire. If it helps, I have my two accounts set up so that my standard user account is used 99.9% of the time. In fact, I have so little use for my administrator account that I have no need for it to include custom themes, personalized start menu items, taskbar icons, desktop icons, etc. The reason is because you will find it nearly impossible to keep up with personalized changes. Every change you make to one account, will have to made in the other. The two accounts will not and cannot sync. My advice is to set up your admin account and then leave it alone. Do all your customizing and personalization to your standard account, the one you will be using day to day.
Or:
Go to C:\users, copy your standard user account folder and paste it to your desktop. Rename this folder to the exact same name as your administrator folder. Go back to C:\users and back up your administrator folder, then remove it from the users window. Now drag your new, renamed administrator folder back into the users folder. You should now have two user folders that, aside from the name, are exactly the same.
Make sure that you make the adjustment in user accounts, also. IOW, make sure your standard user account is in fact marked as such and the same thing with your administrator account.
Thanks. Advice from the Acronis forum solved my problem. Just check the box "Run with highest privledge" in the schedular did the trick. I have disabled the "built-in-admin" account.
