    AV Program


    New user. Just curious to know how well the in house AV program works for 7?

    In house AV program, as in Antivirus? There isn't one, besides Windows Defender and that isn't a full AV program, just a basic antispyware.

    I bought a used Samsung netbook with Microsoft Security Essentials and it has antivirus on it?

    This is a link to the Microsoft anti virus/ malware program. It is running when the PC is on.
    If you install this Windows Defender is turned off. It is superseded by the MSE.

    Got you now Jack. Someone already installed it.

    Also if you go to the above link you can download the newest version that came out earlier this week.
    Just click download.
    Make sure you have the new MSE and make sure Windows firewall is on and you are good.

    Then it was preinstalled on it. There is no in-house AV that comes already installed on Windows 7. You can use MSE if that's what you want. It should be adequate enough.
