Hmm, can't decide if I should use Norton AV/Comodo or just NIS
It depends on what level of computer security you want because there's a big difference in both cost and protection rendered.

you are safe going with either one. both are good security suite and combo. just depends on your comfort level with leaks. matousec is more of a HIPS test than a firewall.

did you switch the configuration to Proactive Security? if you did and ran CLT again, you should block anything that pops up while running CLT and it should give you a better score. Remember to disable sandbox for the test.

Yes that would explain your low scores then. The idea is to not allow/block when the pop ups appear. Glad you finally figured it out though.

I removed Comodo as well and restored back to a system image. I thought that it was just going to be a firewall but it had some sort of process blocker and sand boxing etc that made programs like photoshop stop functioning.
Both Proactive Defense+ HIPS and the Comodo Sandbox are included in the Comodo 5.0 Firewall. You can train HIPS using Training Mode and running your programs one after the other. The Sandbox needs to be trained by telling it not to sandbox programs that you want to run outside the Sandbox by clicking on the 'do not sandbox this program again' option and it will remember your choice. Or if you prefer you can disable both Defense+ HIPS and the Sandbox and run the Comodo Firewall only.

How did Norton do so bad
The Matousec Proactive Security Challenge is a 148 part test of Host Intrusion Prevention Security (HIPS) systems and Norton does not have HIPS.
