    Anti-virus and Anti-Malware?

    Hey everyone!
I had a question I can't find on the fourms, maybe I'm not looking right, but my question is can i run Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Microsoft Essentials Anti-spyware and Virus protection at the same time?

I just want to be sure.

You can run them both, but it may slow things down since both have 'real time' protection...if you have more than 2GB of ram, you may not notice any lag.

Hi there, check out the the "system security" section where you will find a wealth of info on the subject. General view is yes many run MBAM as on-demand scanner while retaining MSE as real time protection.

I am not completely familiar with Malware Bytes, but if is is a realtime antivirus scanner it may conflict with Microsoft Security Essentials. Microsoft Security Essentials by itself is a proven and well regarded program, but if you have paid for another program I would use that. Most would advise against using two antivirus programs together.

I'm running at 5GB of ram.
I also haven't notice any lag in loading videos or play WoW.
I think it's doing great. I just want to be more safe since My computer is used everyday and
my brothers and sisters use it.

    Absolutely and definately YES.

Malwarebytes (MBAM) isn't a classic anti-virus program as such, so it won't conflict with MSE. MSE on it's own is not enough to protect you from everything : you need a layered approach and MSE and MBAM will provide that for you. You won't have any problems at all running both at the same time.

Yes, you can run MBAM and MSE at the same time. MSE is designed to work alongside other security software and you have 5gb RAM.

The free version Malwarebytes doesn't have real time protection capability, so unless you're using the paid Malwarebytes version it's not going to interfere at all since you can only use it as a manually run scanner. The free version won't be running in the background to give any conflicts with MSE that is.

If you use the paid version, it does have real time protection so it will be running in the background along with MSE, so the possibility of conflict is there. But if you see no problems, then you see no problems.
