Your pretty good to go then. Just remember not to run more multiple realtime protections simultaneously, belonging to same category.
    Like Avast+Another AV=Bad
    Avast+spybot's teatimer or malwarebytes pro=Good.
Take a note that it, however, doesn't grant you the freedom to use more and more realtime protections (belonging to different category). It should be atmost 2, not more than that.
    Happy & safe computing.

You can have another real time protection along with an antivirus or internet security. MBAM Pro Protection Module works well with an antivirus and it has a delayed startup avoiding confliction.

I use KIS 2011 and MBAM Pro together. Thing is, you haven't even said what you got on your computer that you want removing. You said a virus, but as far as we know, it could be anything for malware. Please add more info the full name of this malware.

EDIT: By the way, what made you think you got a virus if you haven't got an antivirus or anti-malware programs notifying you of one?

I had a blue screen of death so I thought something might be wrong, but I ran a full scan with Malwarebytes and nothing came up so I think it might have been from a driver or something it has not happened since.

I just downloaded a program from download.com and tried to install it and it would not open the installer so I clicked it a bunch of times then the computer started to get slow and then BSOD. so I thought it might be a virus or because Iclicked it a bunch, but I never had a BSOD before so I'm not sure.
