    UAC Randomly Resets

I have a new Win7 Pro 64x system and I decided not to use UAC so I set the slider to the lowest setting and rebooted. All worked well for a while but it appears that occasionally, when I reboot, UAC is reset to the highest value. I cannot find an event that causes this and I have not been able to find much information about it.

This is kind of like a first blocker that you can inspect the program you want to install, run,
and final check for changes to the system.

Windows 7 has a better UAC compare with Vista, less annoy:)
If you have the AntiVirus software installed, you might consider to put it to the lowest.
But I recommend you to put it in the default level.

I have been using PCs for many years and I fully understand the purpose of UAC. I don't need it and Microsoft provided a way to turn it off. My problem is that something is causing it to turn on again. Even if I set UAC at one of the intermediate levels, it randomly resets to the highest level.

Yes. My account has administrative privileges and the guest account is turned off.

Thats an odd one. Have you performed any Windows updates recently? I wonder if that is what is resetting UAC.......

I have my updates set to notify me and I will install. I haven't noticed any correlation though. The next update I get (other than MSE) I will take note.

Do you have any HIPS program running in background? That might be blocking/resetting the changes.

The only security programs I have running are MSE, Secunia PSI and Windows Firewall.

Make sure the uac group policy and registry settings are set to default first.

Then change the uac setting to what you want.
It could also be due to application conflicts. Do a clean boot to find out.

Sorry it took so long to reply. I reset all of the Group Policy settings to default and then disabled LUI. I don't seem to be getting the reset of UAC anymore so I guess it is fixed. Since it is a random occurrence that happens when I boot the computer, and I usually leave it in hibernate for several days, it may appear again, but I think it won't.
Thanks, problem appears to be solved.
