LT random freezing. error in event log

For the past 24 hours, my laptop has been randomly freezing. I checked the event log, and there is one event that keeps happening, and the error is below:

Failed extract of third-party root list from auto update cab at: <http://www.download.windowsupdate.com/msdownload/update/v3/static/trustedr/en/authrootstl.cab> with error: A required certificate is not within its validity period when verifying against the current system clock or the timestamp in the signed file.

Could this be a problem with the Norton Antivirus I have installed? Seems something is trying to download, and when it's unable--the whole system freezes. No movement on the mouse, I can't ctrl, alt, del. I have to just power down and then restart.

Any help is appreciated!!! Thank you!
