Did somebody hear about Hale.exe virus?

    Hi everybody

My AV and my spyware found a virus called Hale.exe. does anybody know something about this virus. Iīve searched on the internet and found out that some people donīt consider it as being a virus. So is it a virus or not? If it is, why canīt my AV get rid of it?

    Hi, madgirl.

According to hale.exe MD5:f8546857fa2d2e6c9d377d0a840bb1b2 - VirSCAN.org Scanners did not find malware! it may be a f/p. I suggest you do the following

Please go to Jotti: Jotti's malware scan and upload the filepath for hale.exe into the "File to upload & scan" box at the upper left. Do the same at VirusTotal: VirusTotal - Free Online Virus, Malware and URL Scanner

Please provide the results from both Jotti and VirusTotal in your reply.

Considering that neither Trend Micro, nor Avast, nor AVG, nor Microsoft, nor Snopes has an entry for hale.exe, I suspect you either have a false positive or you're among the first to encounter a brand new piece of malware.

I'd try to disable it, though I wouldn't delete it just yet. It might actually have a purpose that is not malevolent.

By the way, what malware detection are you running ???

    Hi

My AV is F-secure. I had ESET installed in this PC but the TI guy removed it and installed this one, only god knows for what!

In my home PC i still have ESET installed and iīve not received any warnings. By the way, i wasnīt able to load the file because when i browse to get it, it doesnīt load. Why?! i canīt tell.

    Greetings

I found this sort of file in some pc where users have used loaders or something like that, but we canīt be sure seeing that other applications could be using this file too. As i could see youīre not using your personal computer. So, youīd better check with the TI and if possible ask them to reinstall your OS if itīs causing any harm to the computer.

Hale.exe is considered by many people as being a virus or a spyware . As far as iīm concerned i just donīt know what to say. Its path is c:\windows\system32\hale.exe. What it does is not clear as is not clear what application could use it. But it spreads itself for the win register and is not easy to remove.

As a last piece of advice donīt download any removal tools that you might find on the internet before checking where it really came from.

    flibble

You need to look again. I have several pages of warnings.

Hale.exe triggers cmd.exe and other things.
It is not part of Windows.

    Read second posting on removal.

So if you don't know don't guess. Posting the wrong info can be dangerous for other peoples PC's.

firs off it was not my info
second it was not a guess it was not my info its based on a link from chew7
just in case this is what i gained from a google search not a guess
and if people have issues with there pc and are worried about incorrect infomation they shuld send it to someone that knows what they are doing taking info from the web what ever the source always come with risks
also a quick google search will revival that Hale.exe is connected with a window 7 crack chew 7 so if it is a virus then try buying windows and then you wont have the risk of viruses/alware etc being attched to cracks
