cant access my locked hd

Hello, Im using Home Premium 64bit. I just reinstalled windows on my new ssd, and have a backup 1.5TB which was locked to all but admin. Without thinking I did not unlock it before reinstalling windows. The old install is wiped and I cannot access the drive, I have the same comp name user name and password but no luck... Does anyone know how I can unlock this drive? Thanks.

Hi,

Have you tried logging in as administrator?

Can you see the drive/disk if you open Computer Management?

Regards,
Golden

Yes I have tried as admin, and I had to use computer management just to get windows to admit the drive was there.

OK. Can you paste a screen capture of the Disk Manager under Computer Management please?

For those of you who might read this at some later date with this same problem... a quik format followed by a nice little program called recuva, that can be downloaded for free at www.recuva.com did the trick nice for me.

I wouldnt recommend this but if you must make sure it is the quick format only.
