    Disabling User Account Control selectively

Every time I start my computer I get a UAC alert for a firmware checker regarding my blu-ray burner and one for java updates. Is there a way I can selectively disable these alerts for those two things?

    Hi,

Unfortunately not - UAC is an all or nothing. You cannot turn it off selectively.

Is this a UAC alert or a simple startup message? Click on start orb, type msconfig, then click on Startup tab. Uncheck any entries related to java update and burner update. Restart, those messages shouldnt be there now.

If you're unsure of what to disable in msconfig, post a snipshot here and you'll be helped.

It can be possible to add programs to the UAC whitelist with Microsoft's Application Compatibility Toolkit
