Guest account restrictions?

I'm trying to setup the guest account on my parent's computer (win 7 home basic in Portuguese), so they can allow my nephew to use it without the kid making a mess out of the computer.

My dad is nearly legally blind, so he runs his resolution at minimum (600x480 or thereabouts). And my nephew keeps changing it to the maximum. Is there a way to change the settings so that guest accounts do not have the option to change screen resolutions?

Hello Cyclinglemur, and welcome to Seven Forums.

After changing the screen resolution to what your parents like, you can disable the display settings using the tutorial below to prevent them from being changed again.

Display Settings - Enable or Disable

Hope this helps,

Thanks, but no luck.

The registry hack works for the current user only, so I cannot use it on the guest account since guest accounts cannot edit the registry. It disabled for the admin account, but not the guest when running it as admin. Is there a way to make it so it disables it for all users?

The local group policy editor isn't available in Home Basic.

You might have to use Parental controls. Or this might help Tweaks, Hacks & Settings buried inside Windows 7 Group Policy Editor | The Windows Club

After using the "disable" REG file in an administrator account, it should be applied to all users on the computer after restarting the computer?

Did you restart the computer afterwards?

Hope this helps.
