Tips and suggestions of programs to block with firewall

Hello everyone,

I am running Windows 7 firewall and am reviewing what programs have inbound access through the exception list. I have very few programs checked, but am wondering if I even need those open. The two I am wondering about are Bonjour Service, and Core Networking. Any suggestions? Thank you guys

Hi,

I believe Bonjour is the service for Apple's ITunes. I'm not sure about Core Networking but it sounds like you should leave that alone - check the path to the service under Services tab in MSCONFIG.

Yes the Bonjour service is related to Apple's iTunes software so its obviously safe. Not sure about the other one though. BTW, there are many services/programs that needs internet (upload and download). You shouldn't be really worried unless you're running something suspicious. ;)
