Errors, critical or other wise is typical Microsoft. As to the phone call and comp cleaning you did, sounds like you've been had and someone is trying to get money from you.

It's a scam! Been going around for quite a while. You don't want anyone to have access to your computer, who you don't personally know.

The phone call is a scam. No one from Microsoft will ever call you or any other legitimate company.

They offer to clean it remotely for you and then steal all your bank account info and any credit card info you have on your PC.

Errors are normal. If everything is working properly then don't worry about it.

Temporary files- you can clean out those easily.
    Tutorial to do so.
Disk Cleanup - Open and Use

Go with Step 1,2,3 then Step 6. No further. Just click the buttons. No need to check mark or uncheck anything. Go with what Windows selects.
    That is it.

Do this every one to two weeks and the temporsary files that are no longer needed will be removed and saves you some hard drive space for new stuff.

    You are welcome.

    Use it if you wish.

There are a lot of great tutorials in that section if you want to find other info or just post anytime you need help.
