    Virus/Malware/Registry


    What are the best current (FREE) Spyware,Registry and Virus software.

    When I took a break from my IT profession it was spybot and cc cleaner what is the top ones nowadays?

    I just used MalWareBytes to clean spyware off a friend's computer on Friday. :)
    It worked great, 99 spyware items found

    Microsoft Security Essentials (Recommended)
    AVG (Recommended)

    AS
    Spybot S&D (Recommended)
    Super Anti Spyware
    Spyware Doctor

    Registry Cleaners
    Advanced SystemCare( Recommended- Way more features than CCleaner)
    CCleaner

    Defrag
    JKDefrag( Recommended- Lightweight and fast)

    Well its really personal prefernce, but ccleaner is still good at what it does, spy/virus, some people say microsoft security essentials. The free does limit your choices.
