It tested alright, and was rated as "good" in that second link. I don't put myself into too much danger surfing the web, thus I don't require insane levels of protection. I'm still satisfied overall with MSE....which is of course just a "basic free AV".

I would say that I have very safe browsing and usage habits but I cannot account for the people at home. I guess I should start considering the BitDefender alternative. But $40 isn't in the budget at the moment.

I guess I also have to consider backups in the form of imaging. I'll be checking the trial out on my system after backing it up. I want to make sure before I shell out anything.
