I wouldn't add spybot, as more is not better.

I use MSE, AVG, and SpybotS&D without any problems...:)

All three together sounds like a potential for problems down the road. I would use Malwarebytes as a on demand scanner only and get rid of Spybot.
If you still feel the need to add something try Superantispyware, and Sandboxie.

I've been using Avast, Mbam, and Spybot portable via "send to" for on demand scanning, for months without issue... if that helps?

You may run into conflicts running 2 spyware/malware programs at the same time. The same happens when running 2 AV's at the same time. If you have MBAM Pro then I would stick with that and Avast.

I use MSE and MBAM Pro and they work seamlessly together :)

thanks for all the reply's i was looking to disable the real time protection but when though the options and could not find it might look into the portable version thought that might be a good idea since i like to have " on demand scanners".

You can right-click the notification icon and select both Enable Protection and Start with Windows (to remove the ticks). This will turn it into an on-demand application.
