Let's see if you can get it back with this batch file:

Copy and paste these lines in Note pad.

@Echo on
pushd\windows\system32\drivers\etc
attrib -h -s -r hosts
echo 127.0.0.1 localhost>HOSTS
attrib +r +h +s hosts
popd
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
ipconfig /flushdns
netsh winsock reset all
netsh int ip reset all
shutdown -r -t 1
del %0

Save as flush.bat to your desktop. Right click to run as Administrator.

If that doesn't work, make sure your not using a proxy server.

Disable the proxy settings in Internet Explorer:
1) Under “Tools” in the browser tool bar select “Internet Options”.
2) In the “Internet Options” window that pops up, click the “Connections” tab at the top.
3) Click “LAN Settings” near the bottom of the “Connections” section.
4) If the “Proxy server” checkbox is marked with a check, click it to deselect/uncheck it.
5) Click “Ok” to close the “Local Area Network (LAN) Settings” window.
6) Click “Ok” to close the “Internet Options” window.
Reboot
Make sure "Proxy server" is still disabled under your LAN Settings.
Test whether internet connectivity is restored.

It sounds like you may have more than XP Anti-Spyware to deal with. However, you may want to start with this guide, which also includes XP Anti-Spyware, to see if it helps: Remove Vista Antimalware 2011 and Win 7 Antispyware 2011 name changing rogue (Uninstall Guide).

try and create a new connection. if it doesn't work, roll back from previous settings if you have. if still exists, reinstall the driver and the reconfigure your router.

Here's the easiest way to fix the issue, and I've done it on several client computers.

Method 1:
Do a system restore back to a date when that XP Anti-Spyware wasn't on your computer. When the system restore has been successful, download and run Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (Malwarebytes : Free anti-malware, anti-virus and spyware removal download). Do a full scan to make sure it gets everything.

Method 2:
If a system restore doesn't work, create a new user account first in control panel (Control Panel>User Accounts>Create a New Account). Make sure its an admin account. Restart the PC (do not log off). Log back in to that new account that you've created. Usually, the new account will not be afected by the malware (yet). Then go online and download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (http://malwarebytes.org/) and do a full scan to remove the XP Anti-spyware thing.
