    What Firewall do you use?

    Hey,

What firewall are you all using?
I have Avast! antivirus, I tried to install Comodo and Zonealarm as firewalls but both installs failed.

You can install it in compatibility mode for Vista or you could just see how good the windows firewall is, that's what I decided to do, if it aint broke....

Agreed..Like Vista, the Win7 firewall works great, for both inbound, and outbound, although you have to enable outbound support in the gui.

    I use Windows Firewall.

This little free app. sits in the notification area and configures the Outbound rules for you.

When it pops up, just click Enable or Disable , Apply or Apply Once , and that's it.

I have installed Comodo 3.5... and having the same problems as everyone else.

Using XP for the past 5 years with Zone Alarm & Love Zone Alarm. Of course, Zone Alarm has its Vista and Windows 7 issues.. so I cannot use Zone Alarm.

I have also tried PC Tools and still no luck..

No one seems to be working with making their programs with Windows 7 until it makes its retail release.... which is unfortunate.. Why wait until then? Just make everything work during the beta stage..

Are there ANY GOOD firewalls that work with Windows 7?

So then this makes windows firewall notify when an app is calling home and gives the option to allow or not, kinda like Zone Alarm. I like that Thanks SIW2... lm

    Hi All,

+1 here on the Vista Firewall Control,

And with regards to Comodo internet security, latest word on the comodo forums is that although the compatibility issue with the installer is still there, the latest Beta is working fine with the Later Windows 7 builds. Can't confirm this personally as I have not tried it since before Build 7000 but may be worth a look when it comes out of Beta
