I can't open the.....

Edit: apparently after restarting my computer after an MBAM scan my problem has been fixed.

For some reason it turned itself from the disabled position to the automatic position. and so it was turned on after I logged back in.

Edit: Although now I am back with a new issue. My Microsoft Security Essentials cannot turn on. The icon is displayed but I cannot turn it on manually as I get this error.

Did you follow Jacee's instructions re combofix?

Nope, I probably won't now, I just reinstalled MSE and now it's working perfectly. My system is normal again, so there is no need to follow instructions now that everything is normal again.
