Norton Subscription Fees makes no sense.

Well I've had problems with MSE. I've certainly seen many problems raised in forum discussions - maybe it's stable now.
I've had no problems, so far, with NIS 2011.
So if you can advise what aspects of NIS 2011 cause problems I'd be interested.

On my PC doesn't it appear to cause significant increase in boot time or normal running overhead.
I certainly know other Forum members use NIS 2011.

My experience with NIS has been the same.
Ive not noticed any performance related issues either, and I also find it nice that it goes to sleep when gaming full screen, so it does not interfer.

3 PCs have been clean since 7 released, all running NIS so thats good enough for me.


However, thats not to say others haven't had issues with it, or no problems exist.
As with anything, it happens.

Im just one of those thats had very good problem free experience with it thus far.

I think he meant 7 forum members collectively had solved problems due to it, not so much personally.

Norton has been a good friend for me. I've used its various flavors since 2001. Some versions have slowed my computer and took hours to to a full scan, but it does what is intended, keep most malware at bay.

NIS 2011 is so far their best effort in my view, low on resources and quicker scans, about, 20 minutes or less, pulse updates, easier to congigure.

As for the fee, I renewed through MyNorton Account for $49(USD) for 3 PC's. Original was bought for $39 at Newegg two years ago.

My PC reboots in 82 seconds.

I think all security suites/AV's will muck things up at times, including Norton. By their nature they have to have access very deeply in the system to work as they should. Ive found AVG really hard to remove if needed.
Greg, go ahead and post opinions, I respect and value them. That's how I learn and hopefully become a better helper. :)
