I use it for my Wii oh actually there are some ports that are blocked off for the very reason of stoping you from making servers (and also because of mass email worms, windows file and printer sharing infections and such...)and to make you pay for a business plan (with a static IP) if you need a server....
another would be if you used static port forwarding which then it would go the computer on that location... | My System Specs |

Thought I would try their anti virus as well just for kicks. Anyone else tried the anti virus? Good, bad, thoughts? i have their full suite running on 7600 x64. No issues at all. Antivirus is what you'd expect. Caught a few already, also the heuristic realtime protection is very accurate in separating incidences from real dangers.
I tried to date: Norton 360, AVG suite and Bitdefender suite. All 3 had issues with 7.
So i give comodo 9 out of 10 on win 7 | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number me and myself OS vista x64/ win 7 x64 CPU phenom 9950 BE Motherboard ASUS M2A-VM HDMI Memory 8 gb Graphics Card nvidia gts 250 Sound Card realtek HD onboard Monitor(s) Displays dual hd 19" tft Screen Resolution 1440x900 Keyboard logitech g11 Mouse usb wireless MS laser 6000 Cooling standard issue Hard Drives 2 x 500 gb WDC

I normally don't post a link to another forum, but this one is important - I used to love Comodo FW myself - their products a generally good to great, but after this surfaced I refuse to touch Comodo with a 10 foot pole. Calendar of Updates: Windows, Security Updates and Software Help

tnx for the link. read it. Seems like they are acting in good faith but were sloppy though.
i'll stick, anyway the heuristic defense picks out the malware anyway even if certified. As I noted in my prior correspondence, Comodo has undertaken an internal review of the Certstar reseller account. We have informed CertStar that their email violates their contractual obligation to refrain from sending unsolicited emails and that their email could be interpreted as misleading and confusing to the customer. During our review, we discovered that Certstar had apparently issued a certificate to mozilla.com without validating control of the domain. We immediately revoked the certificate (prior to your posting) and have suspended Certstar's reseller activities until our investigation has been completed. Please let me know if you have any further problems.

I have been pretty happy with the way Comodo Firewall (I only use the FW part of CIS) works and find it works well with 7 on my system. I really don't care about these other issues that people are seemingly up in arms about. Apparently they don't get that these certs are not intended to validate the safety of the site in question. They are merely to insure that you are connected to the site you think you are connected to. At least that's the way I understand it. Anyway, for me, the C. firewall works well and it's free and imo, it's not that big a deal to uncheck the ask toolbar box when I install it, same as I do with lots of other free software I use (e.g., Deamon Tools lite, CCleaner, etc.). If that's the price to get a great free firewall, I'm OK with it. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP DV8t quad OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 (Retail) CPU i7-Q 720 Motherboard Motherboard Chipset Intel Ibex Peak-M PM55, Intel Lynnfield Memory 6 GB Graphics Card nVidia GeForce GT 230M (1GB) Sound Card IDT High Definition Audio CODEC Monitor(s) Displays 18.4 inch HP Infinity FHD (Samsung 184HT03-001) Screen Resolution 1920 x 1080 Keyboard laptop Mouse Logitech VX Revolution Cooling Zalman NC-2000 notebook cooling pad Hard Drives Hitachi 500GB 7200 rpm (x2)

I had an issue with Comodo firewall when i first installed windows 7. I could not get my PC to share my media with my PS3 no matter what I did
In the end I realised it was a setting in Comodo Firewall. When I first installed Comodo and it detected my network there was an option on first use in a pop up box with a green bar along the top...apparetly I didnt allow comodo to let my network be discoverd (as far as I can remember) I reinstalled the firewall and checked the tick tick box down the bottom and it worked.
Sorry its a little vauge I cant really remember the exact wording of it all | My System Specs | | |

I used COMODO antivirus and their firewall for about 3 years, NEVER had a problem.
But about a year ago I bought NOD32 since it gives better protection (Again, never had a problem with COMODO)
COMODO 3.10 does NOT include ASK toolbar!
Their "SecureDNS" Actually saved me once...I clicked on a page and it shown up with a DNS error saying sometimes like "COMODO SecureDNS has blocked this page due to malware"
So I looked up the page on siteadvisor and it WAS malware SecureDNS blocked.
Still using SecureDNS on my router, works good.
I see nothing wrong with COMODOS products.

privatefirewall(free)seems to work ok in seven,i use it as a second firewall.Has training mode aswell as other things like app protection.Have been using for weeks now, works with lots of different other security progs.commodo is one of the few i haven't tried it with.I use email certificate and securemail sometimes by commodo, but i don't really like their internet security / firewall, too many alerts for me...got to be a right pain.tried on training mode, safe mode and clean mode.I own avira premium which is one of the best i think. The new kapersky is good, but a bit slow. Also eset a good one.I've bought loads and i've narrowed it down to them over time(in my opinion)-i know they're all decent from reviews.
Using a host file is a good idea i think.I use host manager or hostexpert with homer server or built in one with hostmanager.Blocks web ads aswell so u dont need adblock or similar.Have to watch size of it though and not block sites u want, especially with hphost list | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Si setup OS windows 7 Premium CPU AMD phenom quad 9550 Motherboard asus M3A78 Pro Memory 4gb 1066 Graphics Card HD 6850 1GB Sound Card Realtek Monitor(s) Displays acer 19" flat Screen Resolution 1440x900 Keyboard Microsoft 600 Mouse Laser Logitech MX 518 PSU 500w Cooling 3 fans Hard Drives 1 x sataII 1TB samsung F3
