Possible to use MSE as On-Demand Scanner?

    Is it possible?

Please just a simple yes or no. I know it's not something I should do.

Yes I have SAS, Hitman and MBAM.

Couldn't you just disable Real Time protection on it? Then you could just use it manually.

Or you could run the system sweeper every once in a while, pretty much the same thing.

Does MSE run services when used? If so, you'd want to stop them after running MSE on demand, as per Airbot's method. I use Avira Antivir as an on demand scanner by disabling the guard on installation. It does need a scheduling service running to update. You could start the service everytime you update, but I just leave it on automatic.

If all you want is an On-demand scanner then just use Safety Scanner. Microsoft Safety Scanner - Remove Spyware, Malware, Viruses Free
