    Avira compatible with 7?

The title of the thread says/asks it all really.... Is there not a Win 7 compatible version of Avira? I downloaded and installed from CNET as per my usual choice and it does appear to install but is then not visible anywhere within the drive and gave some compatibility message at the end of install that it might not work. I'm in my office now so i can't test to report the specific message.

Hmm, I guess I'll try again when i get home later, but i'm sure its the latest version on the CNET site... It wouldn't matter that i'm running the x64 version of 7 would it?

I've run Avira on a 64-bit RC1 release of Win7 without any issues.

I have Avira Premium Security Suite on my Win7 RC 7100 32bit. No problems what so ever with version 9.

...Jacee, you're using the paid version ... are you saying there are also no problems with the FREE version?

    Never trust CNET

I'm sure the main problem was downloading from CNET. You have to be really careful downloading anything from them or Sourceforge. I downloaded a corrupted version of Comodo Ice Dragon and had trouble uninstalling it. I was finally able to but it took a lot of effort. And I read a How-To-Geek article claiming that Sourceforge bundles its downloads with malware. Only download Avira from the Avira website. You may have gotten a corrupted version with malware from CNET. I no longer trust downloadin anything from them.
