Avira compatible with 7?

The title of the thread says/asks it all really.... Is there not a Win 7 compatible version of Avira? I downloaded and installed from CNET as per my usual choice and it does appear to install but is then not visible anywhere within the drive and gave some compatibility message at the end of install that it might not work. I'm in my office now so i can't test to report the specific message.

Hmm, I guess I'll try again when i get home later, but i'm sure its the latest version on the CNET site... It wouldn't matter that i'm running the x64 version of 7 would it?

...Jacee, you're using the paid version ... are you saying there are also no problems with the FREE version?

Never trust CNET

I'm sure the main problem was downloading from CNET. You have to be really careful downloading anything from them or Sourceforge. I downloaded a corrupted version of Comodo Ice Dragon and had trouble uninstalling it. I was finally able to but it took a lot of effort. And I read a How-To-Geek article claiming that Sourceforge bundles its downloads with malware. Only download Avira from the Avira website. You may have gotten a corrupted version with malware from CNET. I no longer trust downloadin anything from them.

Is Avira & Malwarebytes Compatible?
Does it cause problems to have free Malwarebytes and paid Avira premium on the same Windows 7 pc? I ask this as I seem to remember being told there could be problems, but possibly this was with the full, paid for version of MBAM (Pro??). Thanks for any help.

Avira
I installed this AV a few days ago, and am probably going to uninstall it, unless someone can advise me on how to deal with a couple of problems. First, is that each day, when it scans, it looks at all volumes, including my archives, which I know contains some files that are in the malware...

McAfee vs. Avira
Hey all. I've been virus free running McAfee for awhile now. I get it free with my cox. but I wanted to compare McAfee to Avira. The pros and cons in comparison. I have never customized any settings. so I'm talking default stock for each. Basically, I've heard a lot of good things about Avira....
