Do you perhaps have UAC turned all of the way up? With Windows 7 in it's default setting (1 notch down from top), the system should ONLY prompt you when an application tries to elevate itself. If you run something like Task Manager, or right click My Computer/Manage it should just take you right in. You will see a yellow shield symbol which denotes that it is going to run with admin access, but it won't nag you with a pop up box. Some applications though, like Acronis or Malwarebytes in my case, will elevate themselves after being started as a standard user and that's when you get the pop up.

I'm not trying to imply that UAC is awesome...but I'm always wondering why it seems to really nag some people while other people hardly notice it.

I had UAC set to the lowest level I think. It was set to notify but not dim the screen. The idea of UAC is a good one, but in practical usage, it was annoying to me. If they made it that the user could approve say CCleaner, and UAC would never notify again once approved, then that would be a great extra layer of security, but blocking everything every time is not a great layout.

I followed Brink's how-to on making the shortcut an elevated prompt (or something like that). While it worked fine and CCleaner no longer needed UAC approval, my machine acted weird upon launch. When I clicked CCleaner from the taskbar, my screen went dim, and I could see the command prompt open for a fraction of a second, and then a second or two later, CCleaner would open. I didn't care for this behavior.
