You have 2 antivirus programs installed ?
So we will wait for the result of full scaning. Post it here. And tell us more info about the virus?

Are you doing the scan in Safe Mode?

Just tap the F8 key when you boot up and choose Safe Mode with Networking so that you have access to updates if needed, and then run a full scan.

You also need to make sure your anti-virus definitions are up-to-date as well.

If this is the fake AV software can you let us know the exact name, as there are many different ones?

Also, if you are running realtime scenarios for Both KAV and MSE I suggest you uninstall KAV with the Kaspersky removal tool.

    Hi,

Run Malwarebytes again and ensure you are doing a FULL system scan. You need to try and get rid of Pavelo especially since the worm is known to receive remote commands for downlaoding additional malware to an infected system. Trend Micro reports that this work has DoS capabilities.

You will also need to scan every removable drive you have since this is well know method of propogation.

If you can't get that cleaned, you may want to consider a clean install.

Here is a link with instructions on removing XP Antivirus:

How to remove XP Antivirus 2008, XP Antivirus 2009, and XPAntiVirus (Removal Instructions)

Also, if this happened recently, you may be able to do a system restore to a point before the infection occurred. If you can do this, make sure to restore 2 or preferably, 3 points past the infection since some malware embeds itself in the 1st restore point.

    Download HijackThis!
    HijackThis - Trend Micro USA

Right click and choose to run as Administrator. Click 'Do a System Scan and Save logfile'.

The HJT log will open in notepad.
Copy and paste the HJT log from notepad in your next reply.
