Is Comodo D+ comparable to UAC?

I was getting tired of clicking the UAC OK everytime I wanted to read a PDF and all efforts to exempt Acrobat Pro failed. My answer was to install Comodo Firewall with D+ which I used before with XP. Not nearly as noisy as it once was, will D+ (H.I.P.S.) basically do the same, or better, than UAC?

If it's comparable, I do not know. I know it's a PIA to have to click on, but it is considered another layer of protection. If you disable that, then there's always the possibility something could sneak past Comodo and run without your knowledge.

Any layer of protection you can get should be utilized and although it might get tedious clicking on it, at least you have the satisfaction of knowing that there's one more program watching over your system.

In today's hostile web environment, every layer of protection helps and you have to take an active approach to defending your computer.

Some good info and opinions on UAC: Windows 7 UAC - Quick notes on w D+ is a great defense layer, and I would feel very comfortable using it instead of UAC........ I disabled UAC, and haven't looked back. I don't use IE9, so its protected mode being turned off when disabling UAC is of no concern to me, but may be to you?

If you need to accept a UAC prompt every time you want to read a PDF then something is very very wrong with your computer. You should not need Administrative power to read an PDF file, nor should the reader have Administrative power to read a PDF file. Especially with all the security problems Adobe has with Acrobat it should not have Administrative power!

Something is wrong with your computer.
