Can't open some files

Some of the files return an error message that says they are read only when I try to open them. It also says I can read them so I answer YES. I then get an "Access denied" popup.
If I create a user named "Everyone" and give that user full privileges so I can use the file. So I thought that if I did the same for the folder all of the files therein would have "Everyone " as a user. Not so. Is there a way for the files in a folder to inherit the same security as the folder? It would save a lot of time.

Specifically, what file(s) / folder(s) give you an access denied error?

The ones I am concerned about are some of my daily data contained in "C:\users\william\my documents\myfiles\QPData\. Thats where the Quattro files are. The WordPerct files are back one folder. The folder I am interested in is the MyFiles folder. If I can make all that comes after \MyFiles\ inherit the security settings of \MyFiles\ all would be good.
The folder \MyFiles\ does not give me an "access denied" error but some of its files do.All of the files in question are either .wpd or .qpw

Brink has written some excellent tutorials on taking ownership and setting permissions.

Let me recommend using one of the procedures in those tutorials.

Let us know the results.

Another way to open ISO files
If you occasionally have to open ISO files, but don't want to download a third party problem (certainly not one called demon or devil or whatever), here's one way to do it: in XP Mode, one of the options is to mount an ISO image rather than the CD-ROM drive at startup.
