    Welcome to SevenForums.

The solution is simple: Do NOT run two anti-virus programs.

If I was in your shoes, I would drop Spyware Doctor.

The av companies live from fears that install in the user.

The only anti-virus I use, the only anti-virus I install and the only anti-virus I will recommend is marvelous and free, namely, Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE). Link in my sig.

I use Avast but have used MSE, keep Avast and uninstall Spyware Doctor. Yes, that should solve your problem.

As stated you don't need two AV's installed and running at the same time. And if you insist on having two installed, I would suggest you make one inactive and only run it manually if you really feel like you don't trust the other.

However it really isn't a good idea to have two installed, and especially having them both active!

And +1 for Microsoft Security Essentials but if you're happy with what you have just use the better of the two.

And yes, this should fix your slowness issues.

On another note I persoanlly don't think you need that Registry Mechanic stuff either, but that's another story.

    Good luck.

well your lucky that your system is only running slow...i had to bring mine in because after the company logo came up windows would not boot...the repait people took one look and said "you have 2 or more AV's installed right?"...so now i have to have my hard drive reset to factory and redownload everything to the hard drive...i have read in several sites where people claim it is ok but it is not as it can cause your OS to crash...

Remove your AV, your anit-spyware, your firewall, your super-duper protector software and use and use ONLY Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) link in my sig.

MSE is the only av if use, the only av i recommend, the only av i install.

Use Malwarebytes as a supplement to your chosen AV. The free version is an on demand scanner. Malwarebytes : Free anti-malware, anti-virus and spyware removal download. Even the PRO version with real time protection is designed to run alongside other AVs.
