    Hi Tom

This is the log output from SecurityCheck

    ============

I don't know how to interpret this.

Does it mean the antivirus is not updating itself? orits Firewall is not turned on?

    Your coments please.

    cheers

Everything is great in those logs :) That last log is exactly as it should be, anything wrong would be displayed in red

Try following the steps in this resolution:

"Access is Denied" error message when you try to open a folder

Whoops, thanks for pointing that out :)

ffrree, why do you want to access these folders? I can't think of any reason, but if you really need to then you could boot into a Ubuntu live cd:

    Download | Ubuntu

    Thanks to ALL.

It is probably not important for me to access those folders.

The reason for this, is really for me to understand my system better, why, all of a sudden some folders are not accessible. The why is more important, so to avoid bigger problems in the future.

I intend to have this workstation be my video processing platform for a few years to come.

It seems in this case, that some of these folders are dysfunctional junctions created or left over by installing and uninstalling various problems ( Video processing related) that I have been trialing over the last few weeks since installing the system.

I have been trying to tune the system for maximum performance for Video Editing and Coversions. I tried to maximise the use of my RAM to improve performance, in particular.

Once I reach a stable set of software and configuration, then I'll do a clean reinstall. That's my aim.

    Thanks for all the pointers.

Sorry for overcomplicating things! Although we did manage to fix a few problems on your system :)

Shall I mark this thread as solved? Or do you have any further questions?
