Internet is very slow, zombie process running

Hi i have a problem. My computer has slowed down a bit and my internet connection has slowed down drastically.

My antivirus is updated and doesn't report any infections. However when i run Daphne Task Manager i see many processes that are named as <Zombie>. The task manager doesn't show the path of this process and when i kill this process i get a BSOD.

I have a screen shot of the task manager.

What could be the problem? Is this zombie process a windows default process?

    Hi,

Do the same processes show up using Windows Task Manager?

I recommend running Microsoft System Sweeper - please follow the instructions in this tutorial:

Suggest you see what Process Explorer and Process Hacker say. I'm not familiar with Daphne Task Manager, which is apparently decided that these are zombie processes? Very odd. A Guy

Hello sany and welcome to Seven Forums.

According to the Daphne website, it works with the following:
    • Windows XP
    • Windows 2003
    • Windows Vista
    • Windows 7 x32
Daphne - Kill windows process - Task manager replacement

Your specs say you're running Windows 7 Basic 64-bit. Is it possible you're getting false readings and this task manager replacement isn't playing nice with your computer?

Hmmm, it does show it's for x64

    New in Daphne v1.47:
    Detection for 64 bits environments.

And there is a x64 download. Maybe they just haven't updates the compatibility.

Hello sany and welcome to the forums

Can you do the following for me please:

    OTL

OTL by OldTimer is a flexible, multipurpose, diagnostic, and malware removal tool. It's useful for identifying changes made to a system by spyware, malware and other unwanted programs. It creates detailed reports of registry and file settings, and also includes advanced tools and scripting ability for manual removing malware.
    Download OTL to your desktop.
Double click on the icon to run it. Make sure all other windows are closed to let it run uninterrupted.
When the window appears, underneath Output at the top change it to Minimal Output.
Under the Standard Registry box change it to All.
Check the boxes beside LOP Check and Purity Check.
Click the Run Scan button. Do not change any settings unless otherwise told to do so. The scan wont take long.
When the scan completes, it will open two notepad windows. OTL.Txt and Extras.Txt. These are saved in the same location as OTL.
Please copy (Edit->Select All, Edit->Copy) the contents of these files, one at a time, and post it with your next reply.

Don't directly link to executables. I rather see what it is I'm downloading before I download. 'OTL.exe" means absolutely nothing. What is it? What are you trying to get use to run? etc etc...
