IE9 smartscreen reports Microsoft program as unsafe?!?!

Hi folks, Age of Empires has been flagged as an unsafe program but considering said program is made by Microsoft can I just "run anyway"?

    Hello Templar,

Where did you get the copy of Age of Empires from?

Is it the site that is getting flagged as unsafe instead of the game?

    Hi Brink,
It was just the download that was flagged, not the webpage. I downloaded it from: download.cnet.com which I'm pretty sure is a safe site. Maybe someone just flagged it by accident or maybe it's because it is the Trial version.

Could be. If you are sure that it's safe after you have downloaded and scanned the file, then you could use Option Two in the tutorial below to report it as safe.

I decided to go ahead and run it and am not getting any warning signs. I guess it is a false positive. Thanks for replying though Brink! :)

You're welcome. Be sure to run a scan on your system later just to help be safe. :)
